ANAHEIM, Calif., July 1 (UPI) -- Kelvim Escobar scattered eight hits over seven scoreless innings Saturday as the Los Angeles Angels beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 9-2.

Mike Napoli, who hit two solo homers, had three runs, two hits and two RBI; Juan Rivera had one run and three hits; Vladimir Guerrero hit an RBI single; Robb Quinlan had three hits; and Garret Anderson had two hits to reach the 2,000 hit plateau for the Angels (36-44), who got their first win in five games this season against the Dodgers.

Escobar (6-9) had no walks and six strikeouts.

Matt Kemp and Jeff Kent hit RBI singles, and Kemp and Andre Ethier each had two hits for the Dodgers (41-39).

In his first start for the Dodgers since being acquired in a trade with Tampa Bay, losing pitcher Mark Hendrickson sank to 4-9 overall, giving up seven hits and five runs in five innings.
