Tommie Harris' wife dies

OAKLAND, Calif., July 2 (UPI) -- Brandon Webb pitched his third complete game of the season as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Oakland Athletics, 3-1, Sunday afternoon.
Webb (9-3) gave up one run on four hits and one walk, and struck out seven for Arizona.
Luis Gonzalez had two hits and one RBI for the Diamondbacks, who swept Oakland for the first time in franchise history.
Frank Thomas accounted for the A's only run with a second-inning home run, as Oakland lost for the fifth time in its last six games.
Barry Zito (8-5) took the loss, surrendering three runs on six hits with five walks and three strikeouts over 8 2/3 innings.
