MLB: Texas 3, Houston 1

ARLINGTON, Texas, June 30 (UPI) -- Vicente Padilla held Houston to one run on four hits over eight innings Friday night as the Texas Rangers beat the Astros, 3-1.

Padilla (7-5) struck out five and issued just one walk. Akinori Otsuka pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his 16th save.

Michael Young, Ian Kinsler and Brad Wilkerson each drove in one run for the Rangers, who broke a five-game losing streak.

Houston starter Roy Oswalt (6-4) allowed three runs on nine hits over eight innings.

Preston Wilson had three hits and drove in Houston's only run, as the Astros lost their fourth straight and their seventh out of eight.
