
CINCINNATI, July 1 (UPI) -- Travis Hafner hit a grand slam homer Saturday night to help Cleveland beat the Cincinnati Reds, 12-7.
It was Hafner's only hit in the contest.
Ronny Belliard, Ben Broussard, Jhonny Peralta, Victor Martinez and Franklin Gutierrez all had two hits; Ryan Garko hit a two-run double; and Aaron Boone scored three runs for the Indians (36-43), who have lost eight of their last 14 games.
Winning pitcher Cliff Lee (8-5) gave up four runs and nine hits in six innings with one walk and three strikeouts.
Ken Griffey Jr., Ryan Freel and Adam Kearns hit home runs; Freel had three hits; starter and loser Joe Mays hit a three-run double; and Rich Aurilia had two runs and two hits for the Reds (44-37), who had a three-game winning streak broken.
Mays (0-1) was torched for 11 hits and eight runs in five innings.
