MLB: Baltimore 12, Philadelphia 5

BALTIMORE, June 28 (UPI) -- Ramon Hernandez hit a three-run homer Wednesday night as Baltimore pounded Philadelphia, 12-5, completing a doubleheader sweep.

Hernandez had one run, two hits and four RBI; Nick Markakis had two runs, four hits and three RBI; Miguel Tejada had one run, four hits and two RBI; Jeff Conine had two runs and three hits; and Brian Fahey scored three times for the Orioles (37-42), who have won five of their last seven games.

Winner Kris Benson (9-5) gave up six hits and four runs in five innings with three walks and two strikeouts.

Ryan Howard hit two home runs, while Chase Utley and David Dellucci also homered for the Phillies (35-42), who have lost seven straight and 13 of their last 15 games.

Loser Scott Mathieson (0-2) allowed five runs and five hits in 2 2/3 innings. Reliever Aaron Fultz gave up four runs and four hits in one inning of relief.
