MLB: Toronto 6, Washington 0

TORONTO, June 27 (UPI) -- A.J. Burnett pitched a six-hit shutout and Aaron Hill had three RBI and two runs scored Tuesday as Toronto defeated the Washington Nationals, 6-0.

In just his fourth start of the season, and second since returning the disabled list, Burnett (1-1) earned his first win as a Blue Jay while striking out seven without a walk. He retired 17 of the last 18 batters he faced.

Lyle Overbay homered and scored a pair of runs, while Alex Rios drove in two for the Blue Jays, who have won five of their last seven games.

The Nationals have lost six of their last seven games. Ramon Ortiz (5-6) was the losing pitcher after allowing three runs on four hits in 6 2/3 innings.
