Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
POTOMAC, Md., June 27 (UPI) -- It took six days because of the weather, but Ben Curtis finally got his second PGA Tour victory Tuesday by winning the Booz Allrn Classic by five strokes.
Curtis bogeyed his final two holes Tuesday but finished with a final-round, 1-under 70 and a 72-hole total of 20-under 264.
Curtis' only other victory on the PGA Tour was in 2003 when playing in his first major championship as a rookie he won the British Open.
Padraig Harrington (66), Billy Andrade (64), Nick O'Hern (67) and Steve Stricker (68) tied for second place at 15-under 269.
Ben Crane (66), Jeff Gove (68) and Brett Quigley (71) shared sixth place at 14-under 270.
After heavy rains Sunday and Monday, the tour had its first Tuesday finish since the 1980 Tucson Open.
Curtis, who won $900,000, held a seven-shot lead when play was called on Monday.
