
MIAMI, June 26 (UPI) -- Cody Ross, Mike Jacobs, Josh Willingham and Jeremy Hermida each drove in two runs Monday as the Florida Marlins defeated the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, 8-5.
Ross was 3-for-4 and Jacobs, Willingham and Hermida each had two hits for the Marlins, who have won 12 of their last 15 games. Josh Johnson pitched 6 2/3 innings to earn the win for Florida.
Johnson (7-4) won his third straight decision, allowing three runs on eight hits. He also struck out five and walked one to improve to 5-2 in his last nine starts. Joe Borowski got the final three outs for his 14th save this season.
Rocco Baldelli went 2-for-4 with ahomer and three RBI for the Devil Rays, who have lost three of their last four games.
Tampa Bay starter James Shields (4-1) suffered his first loss of the season, yielding seven runs on 10 hits in five innings.
