Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

BALTIMORE, June 24 (UPI) -- Ramon Hernandez drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth Saturday night as Baltimore beat Washington, 3-2.
On a rainy night in Baltimore, Hernandez also hit a solo home run, Jeff Conine had one run and two hits, and Javy Lopez had three hits for the Orioles (35-41), who have won two in a row and split their last eight games.
In relief, the winner was Todd Williams (2-3).
Ryan Zimmerman hit a run-scoring double, and Royce Clayton hit an RBI ground-out for the Nationals (32-44), who lost their fifth game in a row.
The losing pitcher was closer Chad Cordero (2-3), who gave up the game-winning hit.
