MLB: San Francisco 3, LA Angels 2

SAN FRANCISCO, June 21 (UPI) -- Pitcher Matt Morris doubled in two runs and Eliezer Alfonzo scored a pair of runs in the San Francisco Giants' 3-2 victory over the LA Angels of Anaheim.

Morris' two-run double in the second inning was one of only five San Francisco hits Tuesday, but allowed him to improve to 5-7 on the year. Morris, as a pitcher, scattered seven hits and one run over six innings.

Ray Durham opened the Giants' second by reaching on an error and then stole second. After two Giants made outs, Alfonzo was intentionally walked to get to Morris. But the pitcher responded with a double to right, driving in both runners for the 2-0 lead that handed the loss to John Lackey (4-5).

The Angels got to Morris for a run in the sixth on Adam Kennedy's two-out RBI double, but Alfonzo doubled and scored in the San Francisco seventh. The Angels added a run in the eighth on Mike Napoli's seventh home run of the season.
