Sweden twice came back to tie the score, with Larsson's goal off a long throw catching England off guard as regulation time was running out.

England had grabbed a 2-1 lead just 5 minutes earlier when Joe Cole crossed a pass to Steven Gerrard, who headed it in.

England was on the attack in the first half and an attempt to clear by Sweden was trapped some 30 yards from the goal by Joe Cole, who drove the ball into an upper corner for a 1-0 lead in the 34th minute.
