LONDON, June 19 (UPI) -- Australia's Lleyton Hewitt beat James Blake in straight sets in Sunday's final of the grass-court Stella Artois Tennis Tournament in London.
The scores were 6-4, 6-4, making the eighth-seeded Hewitt a four-time champion of the pre-Wimbledon warm-up event.
"It's fantastic," said the 25-year-old Australian. "I love coming here and to win this title for a fourth time is great."
"I learned a lot about my grass-court game this week," said the fifth-seeded Blake, who beat three-time defending champion Andy Roddick for the first time in seven tries in Saturday's semifinals.
Blake fell to 1-7 lifetime against Hewitt, who set a tone early by winning five of the first six games. Blake rallied and nearly pulled even before Hewitt held serve to take the opening set.
Hewitt won $101,000 and captured a title for the first time since January of 2005.
