MLS: Houston 2, Real Salt Lake 1

HOUSTON, June 18 (UPI) -- Brian Mullan had a goal and an assist as the Houston Dynamo beat Real Salt Lake, 2-1, Saturday.

Mullan scored his first goal of the season in the 36th minute. Later, he set up Alejandro Moreno, who fired past Real goalkeeper Scott Garlick.

Jason Kreis scored Real's only goal, in the 88th minute.

The Dynamo has 21 points and held on to second place in the Western Conference standings -- just three points behind FC Dallas.
