PITTSBURGH, June 17 (UPI) -- Justin Morneau hit a solo home run with two outs in the top of the eighth inning Saturday night as Minnesota beat Pittsburgh, 5-3.
Jason Kubel and Terry Tiffee hit back-to-back homers in the second, Jason Bartlett had two hits and drove in a run, and Morneau extended his hitting streak to nine games for the Twins (33-34), who have won eight of their last nine games.

Winner Jesse Crain improved to 1-4. Joe Nathan earned his 10th save.
Freddy Sanchez hit a two-run single and Ronny Paulino homered for the Pirates, who have lost three straight.
In relief, losing pitcher Damaso Marte sank to 0-5.
