MLB: Detroit 7, Tampa Bay 1

DETROIT, June 13 (UPI) -- Kenny Rogers pitched eight innings Tuesday while leading the Detroit Tigers to a 7-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Devils Rays.

Rogers (9-3) allowed one run on four hits with a season-high nine strikeouts and one walk for the Tigers, who erupted for six runs in the bottom of the fifth and won their fourth consecutive game.

Carlos Guillen and Alexis Gomez each had two RBI in the victory.

Rocco Baldelli had two hits and scored the only run for Tampa Bay, which has lost four of its last six games.
