MLB: Detroit 4, Tampa Bay 3 (13 innings)

DETROIT, June 12 (UPI) -- Curtis Granderson singled home Brandon Inge with the winning run in the 13th inning Monday night as Detroit outlasted the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, 4-3.

Granderson went 4-for-6 with two RBI and a run scored for the Tigers, who rallied from a 3-1 ninth-inning deficit to tie the game. Inge had just one hit, but scored the tying and winning runs for Detroit, which has won three straight and four of five.

Jorge Cantu homered and drove in two runs for the Devil Rays, who lost for the fourth time in six outings. Julio Lugo also homered, but committed an error that led to the winning run.

Granderson's hit made a winner of Todd Jones (1-4), who allowed just one hit in two innings. The Tigers' bullpen combined to yield just one run on three hits in seven innings.

Brian Meadows (1-1) suffered the loss. He was charged with one unearned run on three hits in 2 1/3 innings.
