CARSON, Calif., June 9 (UPI) -- Ante Razov scored both goals Thursday night as Chivas USA beat the Los Angeles Galaxy, 2-1.
Razov scored in the 15th and 21st minutes; while Francisco Mendoza, Sacha Kljestan, and Juan Francisco Palencia had assists for Chivas, which improved to 4-4-1.
Chivas is fourth in the Western Conference with 13 points, eight behind front-running FC Dallas.
Herculez Gomez scored the lone goal for the Galaxy in the 27th minute.
With the loss, Los Angeles dropped to 2-9-1. The Galaxy is last in the six-team Western Conference with only eight points.
Shots on goal favored Los Angeles, 8-4.
The win was the first ever for Chivas against the Galaxy in six all-time meetings.
In their next outings, Chivas USA is at FC Dallas on Sunday, when Los Angeles is at home to D.C. United.
