MLB: Tampa Bay 4, LA Angels 0

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., June 5 (UPI) -- Jamie Shields picked up his first major league victory with six scoreless innings Monday as Tampa Bay shut out the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, 4-0.

Shields (1-0) allowed seven hits and two walks while striking out six for Tampa Bay, which won back-to-back games for the first time since winning four straight from May 18-21.

Tyler Walker pitched the final 1 1/3 innings to complete the shutout and record his 10th save. Joey Gathright knocked in a pair of runs in the victory.
