MLS: Real Salt Lake 3, Chicago 1

SALT LAKE CITY, June 4 (UPI) -- Jeff Cunningham scored two goals Saturday night to help Real Salt Lake beat Chicago, 3-1.

With the victory, RSL extended its unbeaten streak to a team-record four games.

It took the lead with Cunningham's first goal in the 57th minute. Five minutes later, Chicago's Brian Plotkin scored an unassisted goal to knot the contest at one, but the Fire (2-3-4) would not score again.

RSL scored an own goal in the 69th minute and Cunningham scored again in the 77th minute.

Both clubs had four shots on goal.

Real is in fourth place in the Western Conference with 11 points, 10 behind front-running FC Dallas. The weary Fire ended a rough nine-game road trip, and fell to 2-3-4 overall.

Chicago is fifth in the East, with only 10 points, 14 less than first place D.C. United.

Next week, RSL hosts Colorado on Friday night and Chicago is at New England on Sunday.
