Oklahoma State wins NCAA golf title

SUNRIVER, Ore., June 3 (UPI) -- Oklahoma State University posted a three-stroke victory at the NCAA Men's Golf Championship on Saturday with a 9-under-par 1143.

Jonathan Moore, a redshirt freshman at Oklahoma State, took the individual title at 12-under 276, four ahead of the college field.

The University of Florida was second in the team competition at 6-under 1146. The Gators had the best team score, 9-under 279, in the final round.

Minnesota and Wake Forest shared third place at 5 under.

Kentucky took fifth place at 1-over 1153. Georgia -- which won the title in 2005 -- was sixth at plus-four.

Washington was the team leader entering the final round, but struggled to a 13-over par team total Saturday to wind up in ninth place.
