NEWPORT, Wales, June 3 (UPI) -- Sweden's Robert Karlsson has a six-shot lead -- and another record -- after three rounds of the Wales Open at Newport, Wales.
He shot 4-underr 65 Saturday for a 54-hole total of 18-under 189 -- a European Tour record for three rounds, topping the 192 by Tiger Woods at the 2000 WGC-NEC Invitational.
"There are another 18 holes to play and if someone behind me throws in a 61, I will have to play pretty good to get it," said the 36-year-old Karlsson. "I have to keep focused. I can't start thinking like it is mine to lose. If you do, you are in big trouble."
Paul Broadhurst of England is second at 12-under 195 after a 67. Scotland's Gary Orr (65) is third at 11-under 196.
England's Simon Dyson (69) and Henrik Nystrom (64) of Sweden are tied for fourth place at 10-under 197.
