Beckham target of prank

MANCHESTER, England, June 1 (UPI) -- A television prank fooled British soccer star David Beckham into believing he was being kidnapped in a car.

Beckham ran from drivers he thought were kidnappers in the prank set up and filmed by one of his teammates, reports Sky News.

The report said Beckham first thought he was being chauffeured to a sponsors' meeting in Manchester. He became suspicious as the car started going in circles and jumped out of the vehicle when it stopped at a traffic light.

He ran off but his teammate who jumped out of a nearby van with a film crew later explained it was a prank. Beckham reportedly took the prank in stride.
