MLS: Chivas USA 1, Chicago 0

CARSON, Calif., May 28 (UPI) -- Juan Pablo Garcia scored the lone goal Saturday night as Chivas USA beat the Chicago Fire, 1-0.

Garcia's goal came in the game's second minute, giving Chivas its first victory since a season-opening 3-0 win against Real Salt Lake on April 2. It was Garcia's second goal of the season.

With the victory, Chivas rose to 2-4-1. It has 7 points, and despite the victory, it is tied for fifth place in the Western Conference with the Los Angeles Galaxy.

The Fire, who had only 3 shots on goal to 7 by Chivas, dropped to 2-2-4, good for 4th place in the East.

Chicago has 9 points, 9 less than East-leading D.C. United, which has 18 after their 3-1 win at Kansas City Saturday night.

Next Saturday, Chicago is at Real Salt Lake, while Chivas hosts Colorado.
