"This is my biggest victory," Peer said. "To beat someone ranked as high as Myskina was an amazing end to the tournament. I never gave up and I kept believing in myself. It's great to win another tournament just before the French Open so I'm going to go to Paris really high on confidence."

Peer earned a first prize of $30,500.

Myskina, 24, was trying for her 11th career title. She won the 2004 French Open and will face Sania Mirza of India in the first round at Roland Garros, where the French Open -- the season's second Grand Slam event -- begins Sunday.
