BUFFALO, N.Y., May 26 (UPI) -- Martin Gerber recorded his first-career playoff victory Friday night as Carolina blanked Buffalo, 4-0, in Game Four of the NHL's Eastern Conference Finals.

Mark Recchi, Andrew Ladd and Bret Hedican all scored once and Eric Staal scored a power-play goal in the first period to extend his playoff point streak to 14 games. Doug Weight picked up his ninth assist of the post-season, and Gerber made 22 saves for the Hurricanes, who evened the best-of-seven series at two games each.

Ryan Miller gave up four goals on 21 shots for the Sabres, who failed to score on four power-play chances.

Game Five is Sunday in Raleigh, N.C.
