MLB: LA Dodgers 3, Washington 1

WASHINGTON, May 27 (UPI) -- Rafael Furcal had one run and three hits Saturday afternoon as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat Washington, 3-1.

Andre Ethier had one run and two hits; Nomar Garciaparra had one run, one hit and one RBI; and Kenny Lofton had one run and one hit for the Dodgers (28-21), who have won eight of their last nine games.

They had a seven-game winning streak broken on Friday night, when they lost, 10-4.

In seven innings, winning pitcher Derek Lowe (3-3) gave up one run and five hits with one walk and three strikeouts. Takashi Saito picked up his second save.

Nick Johnson had one run and three hits, and Marlon Anderson had one hit and knocked in the only run for the Nationals (20-30), who had a four-game winning streak snapped.

Loser Mike Stanton sank to 1-5.

The Dodgers lost second baseman Jeff Kent to a sprained left wrist.
