
EDMONTON, Alberta, May 23 (UPI) -- Edmonton defeated the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, 5-4, Tuesday after the two had eight goals in the third period of Game Three of the NHL Western finals.
Fernando Pisani's goal with 5:46 remaining in regulation put the Oilers ahead for good and goaltender Dwayne Roloson sealed the victory with key saves in the waning minutes.
Edmonton now leads 3-0 in the best-of-7 series.
Toby Petersen, Michael Peca, Chris Pronger and Steve Staios each scored a goal for the Oilers, who can complete the sweep when they host Game Four on Thursday.
Roloson made 34 saves in the victory, including 12 in the third period.
Teemu Selanne scored two goals for the Mighty Ducks, who swept the Colorado Avalanche to reach the Western finals.
