NEW YORK, May 19 (UPI) -- David Wright drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth Friday as the New York Mets beat the cross-town rival Yankees, 7-6.
Wright finished 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored for the Mets, who never led until Wright's RBI with two outs and two strikes in their final at-bat.
Yankee reliever Mariano Rivera (1-3) gave up a one-out double to the Mets' Paul Lo Duca, who scored when Wright drove a hit over Yankees' centerfielder Johnny Damon.
Billy Wagner (3-0) struck out the Yankees in the top of the ninth to get the win in relief.
Carlos Beltran had a three-run homer and Xavier Nady hit a two-run shot for the Mets, who ended a two-game slide.
Derek Jeter had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored for the Yankees, who have lost two straight and four of six.
