MLB: Toronto 3, LA Angels 0

ANAHEIM, Calif., May 18 (UPI) -- Casey Janssen allowed two hits over eight innings in helping the Toronto Blue Jays to a 3-0 victory over the LA Angels of Anaheim.

Janssen struck out three and did not walk a batter Wednesday in improving to 2-3. The Blue Jays backed him with single runs in the second, fifth and sixth innings to beat Angels' starter Kelvin Escobar (5-3).

Toronto got 12 hits and two walks off Escobar over seven innings. Gregg Zhan led off the Blue Jays' second with a line-drive home run to right for the game's first run. Vernon Wells added a sacrifice fly in the fifth and back-to-back doubles from Bengie Molina and Russ Adams in the Toronto sixth made the score 3-0.

Janssen retired the first 15 batters he faced before Robb Quinlan grounded a singled to right. The Toronto starter retired the next seven Angels he faced before Dallas McPherson singled in the eighth.
