NEC and PFL champs in Gridiron Classic

SOMERSET, N.J., May 16 (UPI) -- The Northeast Conference and Pioneer Football League announced Tuesday a two-year agreement to meet in the newly created Gridiron Classic.

The Gridiron Classic will feature the champions of the two I-AA football conferences.

The NEC champion will play host to the inaugural classic on Nov. 18 with the PFL winner at home in 2007.

Central Connecticut State and Stony Brook are the defending co-champions of the NEC while San Diego won the PFL championship last season.
