
BALTIMORE, May 16 (UPI) -- David Ortiz drove in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning and the Boston bullpen made it stand Tuesday as the Red Sox posted a 6-5 win over Baltimore.
Manny Ramirez and Trot Nixon each homered for the Red Sox, who have won all eight meetings this season between the teams and 13 straight dating back to last year.
Curt Schilling (6-2) earned the win as he allowed five runs on nine hits in 5 2/3 innings. After Mike Holtz closed out the sixth, Mike Timlin tossed two perfect innings and Jonathan Papelbon notched his major-league leading 14th save of the season with a 1-2-3 ninth.
Brandon Fahey and Jay Gibbons each hit two-run homers for the Orioles. Reliever Todd Williams (1-1) was charged with his first loss of the season, yielding one run on two hits in the sixth inning.
