MLB: Baltimore 6, Kansas City 5

BALTIMORE, May 12 (UPI) -- Corey Patterson hit a three-run homer Friday night to help Baltimore edge the Kansas City Royals, 6-5.

Patterson had two hits, four RBI and two runs scored; Brandon Fahey, who knocked in the winning run, had two hits and the one RBI; Ramon Hernandez had two runs and two hits; and Jeff Conine had three hits for the Orioles (16-20), who have won only three times in their last 12 games.

In relief, the winner was Todd Williams (1-0).

Tony Graffanino had two hits, two walks, one run and one RBI; Emil Brown, who homered, had two hits, two runs and one RBI; and Kerry Robinson had two hits and one RBI for the Royals (10-23), who had a three-game winning streak snapped.

Loser Elmer Dessens dropped to 2-3.
