FRISCO, Texas, May 11 (UPI) -- Carlos Ruiz scored a goal and Dario Sala recorded a shutout in FC Dallas' 1-0 MLS victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Sala needed to make just three saves in the game Wednesday as Los Angeles was shutout for the fourth time in seven games this year.

Ruiz' goal came in the game's 20th minute when he was able to gain possession of a Ramon Nunez shot that rebounded from Galaxy goaltender Steve Cronin. Ruiz took the ball from just inside the goal area and his shot made it through a pack of players before settling in the back of the goal.

The decision left FC Dallas in first place in the MLS Western Division while Los Angeles is in fourth in the 6-team division.
