MLB: Atlanta 9, Florida 1

MIAMI, May 11 (UPI) -- The Atlanta Braves erupted for six runs in the third inning Thursday night and walloped Florida, 9-1.

Matt Diaz had a career-high five hits, scored two runs and drove in one run; Todd Pratt had one run, two hits and two RBI; Chipper Jones had two runs and two hits; and Jeff Francoeur had one run, two hits and one RBI for the Braves (15-19), who have split their last 10 games.

Winner Tim Hudson (3-3) gave up one run and five hits in six innings with one walk and seven strikeouts.

Miguel Olivo hit a solo home run in the fifth inning to account for Florida's only run, and Hanley Ramirez had two hits for the Marlins (9-23), who have dropped three of their last four games.

Loser Dontrelle Willis (1-4) was torched for seven runs on 10 hits in 2 2/3 innings with two walks and no strikeouts.
