ST. LOUIS, May 8 (UPI) -- Matt Holliday hit a pair of home runs Monday to power the Colorado Rockies to a 6-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Jeff Francis (2-2) allowed one run on six hits in 7 2/3 innings to pick up his second straight victory. The right-hander became the third straight Rockies starter to pitch into the eighth inning, following Jason Jennings's shutout on Saturday and Aaron Cook's eight-inning performance on Sunday.
