MLB: Atlanta 13, N.Y. Mets 3

NEW YORK, May 7 (UPI) -- Jeff Francoeur hit a three-run homer and a triple Sunday as Atlanta routed the New York Mets, 13-3.

Brian McCann had one run, three hits and three RBI; Brian Jordan also homered and drove in two runs; and Chipper Jones had two runs, two hits and an RBI for the Braves (13-18), who impressively broke a four-game losing streak.

Winning pitcher John Smoltz (2-2) gave up one run and three hits in six innings with two walks and eight strikeouts.

Atlanta shortstop Edgar Renteria had two hits and one RBI to extend his hitting streak to a major-league best 22 games to start the season -- and 23 in a row dating back to last year.

Carlos Beltran homered for the third straight game and David Wright had a hit and an RBI for the Mets (21-10), who had a four-game winning streak end.

The loser was Jose Lima (0-1).
