FRANKLIN, Tenn., May 5 (UPI) -- Angela Stanford Friday remained at the top of the leader-board after two rounds of the LPGA's Franklin (Tenn.) American Mortgage Championship.
Through 36 holes, Stanford is 12-under-par 132 after shooting a 7-under 67 in Friday's second round. She has a one-shot lead over Patricia Meunier-Lebouc (66) of France at the halfway point, while Sophie Gustafson, who shot a course record 9-under 63 on Friday, is two shots back at 10-under 134.
Karrie Webb (68), Wendy Ward (66), and Karin Sjodin (64) are 9-under 135.
"I'm hitting it really close and I feel like I have my distances dialed in pretty well," said Stanford.
"I didn't know it was a record," Gustafson admitted. "I actually played about the same (Thursday). It was nice to be able to make good shots."
Cristie Kerr (69), Lindsey Wright (67), Young Kim (69) and Ji Yeon Lee (68) are tied for seventh at 8-under 136.
