FRANKLIN, Tenn., May 4 (UPI) -- Angela Stanford and Beth Bader both shot 7-under 65 Thursday to share the first-round lead at the Franklin American Mortgage Championship in Franklin, Tenn.

Stanford, who has never won an LPGA event, matched her career low round. She lost in a playoff to Hilary Lunke at the 2003 U.S. Women's Open.

Bader reached her 65 thanks to a 10-foot eagle putt at the par-5 seventh hole.

Grace Park is alone in third place at 6-under 66.

Karrie Webb, who won the Kraft Nabisco Championship and Karrie Webb, the tour's leading money winner, are tied for fourth at 5-under 67 with Laura Diaz.

One shot further back at 4-under 68 are Karine Icher, Ji Yeon Lee, Sherri Turner, Angie Rizzo, Hee Jung Park and Kim Brozer.
