Packers sign Woodson to $52.7 million deal

GREEN BAY, Wis., May 1 (UPI) -- The Green Bay Packers signed cornerback Charles Woodson on Monday to a contract reported to be for seven years and $52.7 million.

Woodson switches to Green Bay after spending the last eight seasons with the Oakland Raiders, who selected him with their first-round pick in the 1998 NFL Draft.

Woodson was injured most of last season and played in just six games. He has 17 interceptions in 106 career games. The Heisman Trophy winner also has 456 tackles and 5 1/2 sacks.
