MLB: Colorado 8, Florida 7

MIAMI, April 29 (UPI) -- Garrett Atkins hit a two-run homer and drove in three Saturday night to help the Colorado Rockies slip past Florida, 8-7, for their third straight win.

Matt Holliday had two doubles, a triple, two RBI and a run scored; while Jamey Carroll added two hits and scored two runs for the Rockies (14-10), who have beaten Florida five straight times.

In relief, winning pitcher Miguel Asencio (1-0) surrendered two runs and two hits in three innings with no walks and two strikeouts.

Josh Willingham had a two-run homer among his three hits; and Hanley Ramirez had two hits, scored twice and drove in a run for the Marlins (6-15), who have lost two in a row and five of their last six games.

The loser was reliever Randy Messenger (0-1).
