NEW ORLEANS, April 28 (UPI) -- Joe Durant shot an 8-under 64 Friday to take a two-stroke lead after two rounds at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
The tournament is the first major sporting event in or around the area since the Gulf region was hit by Hurricane Katrina last year.
Durant is 12-under 132. Brett Wetterich (65) is second after a 10-under 134.
Retief Goosen (69), Michael Allen (67), Ian Poulter (68), Ryan Hietala (68), Charley Hoffman (69), Eric Axley (65) and Stephen Leaney (67) all share third place at 9-under 135.
David Toms (67), Aaron Baddeley (67) and Glen Day (68) are in a group one stroke further back at 8-under 136.
Among those missing the cut were Joey Sindelar (141), Bernhard Langer (142), Lee Westwood (143) and Chris DiMarco (144).
