KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 27 (UPI) -- Luis Castillo had three hits and two RBI Thursday as the Minnesota Twins beat the Kansas City Royals, 7-3.
Michael Cuddyer went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, Luis Rodriguez scored two runs and Mike Redmond and Rondell White each had one RBI for the Twins (9-12), who erupted for five runs in the second inning. Minnesota won two games of the three-game series.
Winning pitcher Johan Santana (1-3) gave up three runs and seven hits in eight innings with 10 strikeouts and one walk.
Angel Berroa, Tony Graffanino and Shane Costa each knocked in a run and Mike Sweeney had two hits for the Royals (5-15). Kansas City is 3-2 after snapping an 11-game slide.
Losing pitcher Mark Redman (0-1) was tagged for five runs and six hits in 1 2/3 innings with three walks and no strikeouts.
It was Santana's sixth straight win against Kansas City.
