PHOENIX, April 20 (UPI) -- Jeff DaVanon had three hits, knocked in three runs and scored three runs in pacing the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 10-3 victory over the San Francisco Giants.
DaVanon had a fourth-inning home run and a 2-run triple in the sixth Wednesday that put the Diamondbacks up 7-1 and beat San Francisco starter Matt Cain (0-2).
Arizona starter Brandon Webb scattered 10 hits over 7 2/3 innings to improve to 2-0. Two of the runs he allowed came on home runs by the Giants' Mark Sweeney and Moises Alou.
DaVanon's home run -- his first of the year -- set off a 3-run rally that put the Diamondbacks up 3-1. Arizona added a pair of runs in the fifth, with DaVanon getting a single and run scored in the rally. His triple in the sixth put Arizona ahead by 6 runs.
The Diamondbacks tacked on three runs in the eighth after the Alou home run in the seventh and a run-scoring single by Steve Finley in the eighth cut the Arizona lead to 7-3.
