BOSTON, April 19 (UPI) -- The Boston Celtics and Delaware North Companies-Boston Wednesday announced that the agreement on the TD Banknorth Garden has been extended.
The amendment continues the lease on the Celtics' home court through the 2020-2021 season.
"We are excited that this extension will allow us to remain at the TD Banknorth Garden, while enhancing the Celtics game experience for our fans, through a series of immediate upgrades, effective for the 06-07 season," said Celtics managing partner and governor Wyc Grousbeck. "For the Celtics to remain at the TD Banknorth Garden is not only good for the team but it is also good for the city of Boston and for our fans."
"It is an exciting prospect to think that Boston could be host to the NBA All-Star Weekend in either 2009 or 2010," said Boston Mayor Thomas Menino. "I am thrilled that they are staying at the TD Banknorth Garden."
