MLB: Cincinnati 9, Florida 1

CINCINNATI, April 17 (UPI) -- Brandon Phillips tied a career high with four runs batted in Monday as the Cincinnati Reds routed the Florida Marlins, 9-1.

Adam Dunn hit a two-run homer, his eighth home run of the season, while Scott Hatteberg and Javier Valentin each scored two hits for the Reds.

Brandon Claussen (1-1) earned the win by pitching seven scoreless innings, allowing five hits, walking two and striking out seven.

Edwin Encarnacion drove in one run and scored twice, and Austin Kearns hit his fifth homer of the season for the Reds.

Hanley Ramirez and Miguel Cabrera both went 2-for-4, and veteran Brian Moehler (0-3) allowed eight runs -- seven earned -- on nine hits.
