NHL: Edmonton 2, Anaheim 1

EDMONTON, Alberta, April 14 (UPI) -- Ales Hemsky scored late in the third period to propel Edmonton to a 2-1 victory over Anaheim Thursday night.

Ethan Moreau scored the other goal for the Oilers, who won for the first time in three games. Dwayne Roloson made 23 saves for Edmonton, which secured a playoff berth when Vancouver lost to San Jose.

Andy McDonald scored the lone goal for the Mighty Ducks, who have dropped two straight. Jean-Sebastien Giguere allowed two goals on 37 shots as Anaheim currently sits in sixth place in the Western Conference with 96 points, one behind San Jose.
