
CLEVELAND, April 14 (UPI) -- Jose Lopez went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run Thursday as Seattle beat the Cleveland Indians, 9-5.
Ichiro Suzuki added a two-run homer; Kenji Johjima knocked in two runs; while Richie Sexson had a hit and scored twice for the Mariners (5-5).
In relief, winning pitcher Julio Mateo (1-0) allowed two hits in 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Seattle won two of its three games at Cleveland. It was the first time the Mariners won a series at Jacobs Field in more than two years.
Ronnie Belliard went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBI; and Grady Sizemore had three hits and scored a run for the Indians (6-3).
Cleveland has lost two in a row following a six-game winning streak. Losing pitcher Scott Sauerbeck fell to 0-1 in relief of starter Jason Johnson.
