
SAN FRANSCISCO, Calif., April 14 (UPI) -- Roy Oswalt pitched 8 1/3 scoreless innings Thursday as Houston beat San Francisco, 8-0, in the second game of a double-header at AT&T Park.
The win gave the Astros a split in the twin-bill after the Giants won the opener, 5-3.
Lance Berkman went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI; Eric Bruntlett had two hits and scored once; while Brad Ausmus went 3-for-4 with two RBI for the Astros (6-3). Houston has won three of its last four games. Oswalt scattered eight hits, walked three and struck out two.
Both Randy Winn and Todd Greene went 3-for-4 for the Giants (5-3). In the night-cap, San Francisco had its three-game winning streak snapped.
Losing pitcher Matt Cain (0-1) gave up three runs and five hits in five innings with two walks and eight strikeouts.
