
DENVER, April 9 (UPI) -- Joe Sakic had a goal and an assist Saturday to help the Colorado Avalanche beat the St. Louis Blues, 4-2.
Sakic's goal tied him with Mike Bossy for 17th place on the NHL's all-time goal-scoring list.
Ian Laperriere, Dan Hinote and Milan Hejduk also scored goals; Patrice Brisebois, Kurt Sauer, Brett McLean, Cody McCormick, Brad Richardson, and Karlis Skrastins added assists; and Peter Budaj made 31 saves for Colorado (42-27-8), which has won two of its last three games. The Avalanche have moved into sixth place in the Western Conference with 92 points, one point ahead of Edmonton.
Keith Tkachuk had a goal and an assist; Kevin Dallman added his fourth goal of the season; and Jason Bacashihua made 33 saves for the Blues (20-42-14), who have lost a franchise record 13 consecutive games.
