MLB: Chi. Cubs 3, St. Louis 2

CHICAGO, April 9 (UPI) -- Derrek Lee hit a solo home run in the eighth inning Saturday as the Chicago Cubs rallied for a 3-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Michael Barrett had a two-run homer to tie the game in the seventh; and Curt Murton had a hit and scored once for the Cubs (3-1), who have won two in a row. Bobby Howry (1-0) was the winning pitcher in relief of Carlos Zambrano, who gave up only four hits and two un-earned runs in six innings with four walks and five strikeouts.

Skip Schumaker and John Rodriguez both had two hits; and Yadier Molina drove in a run for the Cardinals (3-2).

The loser was Brad Thompson (1-1), who gave up Lee's key home run.
